Upon reaching Johnson's office, Grady reveals that he lied about organising the meeting and that he suspects Johnson is a recluse, given that no-one has seen him in years. The player battles through an onslaught of appliance turrets, before using the desk's inbuilt rocket propulsion system to speed them to the top floor. They are suddenly attacked by appliances modelled into (far superior) turrets by Housewares engineers. Simmons), and as they journey to Johnson's office on the 80th floor Grady fantasizes about spending the money they are going to make on paying back the loan sharks he used to fund the turret's development. He claims that he has organised a meeting with CEO Cave Johnson ( J. Grady enthusiastically urges them back to work to test his new and improved turret on appliances stolen from the Housewares Department. Eighteen months later the player is released from Aperture prison, and Grady has become a parole officer in order to monitor them. Grady leaves the player to take the fall while he attempts to improve the design of the turret. He urges the player to test it out and the player ends up destroying the warehouse. Six months later, Grady introduces a turret cobbled together from weapon parts and the shell of a toilet. Inspired, Grady decides to try and pitch a new idea to the heads of Aperture. A defective toilet destroys a transport pipe filled with ammunition, filling the cistern with bullets which the toilet the fires off. A core named Grady ( Nate Bargatze) arrives and tasks the player with testing toilets. The player, whose name is up to them to decide, starts work at Aperture as a product tester at a desk that from that point on they seem incapable of leaving. The game could also be played on standard computer hardware with the use of a game controller. A few different scenarios are used to test different functions of the controls, such as a shooting segment making use of gyroscopic control, or a situation where the player must write their name making use of the Steam Deck's touchscreen. The game serves as a tech demo for the Steam Deck, with most of the game taking place in front of a desk that acts as an in-world representation of the console. If you knock the device over it will say things like “critical error,” “shutting down,” “I don’t hate you,” “hey hey hey,” and “malfunctioning.” If it doesn’t sense motion for 30 seconds it will say “are you still there?” This is an officially licensed Portal 2 collectible and is available now for $39.99(USD) over at ThinkGeek. The gameplay consists of product inspection aided by Grady, an artificial intelligence "core" much like many others seen in the Portal franchise. The toy also says other quips from the game if you move it or knock it over along with vibrating. It also says memorable quotes from the video game, including “target acquired,” “there you are,” “I see you,” ‘preparing to dispense product,” and “activated.” If you can’t imagine for yourself what that looks and sounds like, here’s a demo video: When the turret senses motion, the side pods open revealing tiny faux guns. This little turret doesn’t actually shoot bullets, but it does activate when it senses motion. The USB gadget is called the Portal 2 Sentry Turret USB Desk Defender. If you’re a fan of the video game Portal 2, ThinkGeek has a new USB powered toy just in time for the holiday shopping season that you will love. Packaged in an unbelievably sleek and light framework (with a mouse that boasts of ergonomics that make hours of gaming a breeze), the keyboard can run on a single charge for 4 months, while the mouse gives you 40 hours of battery life on a single charge. Designed to wirelessly connect to your device via Bluetooth (preferably to your TV), the Turret is a full scale keyboard, built in with a smooth mousepad to run your wireless mouse across. The Turret was built for a specific scenario. We saw their power bank earlier last week which could charge not just your phone, but even your laptop! Following that philosophy of empowering the user is the Razer Turret, a completely wireless Keyboard and Mouse kit that sits vertically on your desk or table and unfolds on your lap when you want it to. From the very beginning, they’ve been the dedicated source for high-quality gear for gamers and computer geeks.Ĭatering to gamers is harder than you’d think because their demands are usually the highest, which makes Razer’s products pretty state-of-the-art. I have more respect for Razer than I do for Apple because they never put their personal agenda on a higher priority than that of their fan-base.
